Benji – 4yrs – Male
Always keen to investigate, Benji is a curious, young rabbit who enjoys keeping a close eye on daily life. He is often one of the first to see what people are up to and likes to be involved in whatever is happening around him. Cleaning time is a particular favourite, and Benji can often be found enthusiastically throwing cleaning equipment around in an effort to “help” with the job.
While handling is not something many rabbits actively enjoy, it is still very much a work in progress for Benji due to having had limited experience with it in his previous home. He can be a little unsure at first, but settles quickly and will tolerate necessary handling when required. Benji much prefers interactions with all four paws firmly on the ground and appreciates being allowed to approach people in his own time. He can also be a little sensitive to loud noises and sudden movements, so benefits from calm, gentle interactions while he builds confidence.
Although Benji did not initially show much interest in food when he arrived in our care, he has since discovered just how enjoyable it can be and now actively seeks out treats and food based enrichment. He makes excellent use of the space available to him and enjoys exploring his surroundings, making him well suited to a home that can provide plenty of room and opportunities for enrichment.
Benji has previously lived as an indoor rabbit, but we feel he could adapt well to either an indoor or outdoor home provided his accommodation offers adequate space and stimulation. He has also successfully co-existed with a cat in the past and may be able to live alongside other species, provided he has access to safe areas where he can retreat if he chooses. We are looking for a home where Benji can be gradually bonded with a neutered and vaccinated female rabbit, as well as any secondary school aged children or older that are able to give him the time and space he needs to settle into his new surroundings.
